The event will be flagged off at 9 am and about 100 blind persons are expected to participate in the event with the Women’s Cell headed by Nevada Putman’s wife, Andreena Putman also participating with a Women’s Cyclothon.
Arshi Khan along with several other Bollywood celebrities recently launched the “Road Safety Week” campaign in Mumbai on 26th January – Republic Day. The campaign includes several proactive awareness initiatives, including the need for pillion riders of bikes and scooters to wear helmets even on interior roads. The campaign will also target women riders –whose numbers have increased exponentially on Indian roads as well college students who normally do not wear helmets.
“One of the biggest causes of head injuries is not wearing helmets while riding said a spokesperson for Vega Helmets, and we are trying to spread the awareness that wearing a good helmet can save your life,” said Jenil Bhansali from Vega Helmets.
It is promoted online by IndiaNewsNetwork.IN and organized with support from the Mumbai Traffic Police Cell. Several other Bollywood and TV celebrities and actors are likely to be part of this campaign on Sunday.
